"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1Timothy 6:10.
My passionate love of money took me all over the world finally ending with a thirteen year sentence in Federal Prison.
I sold firecrackers in the eighth grade of St. Joan of Arc grammar school. I would buy a pack of twenty and sell them as loosies. I wasn't getting rich but I was making a few cents. I kept them in my socks at school. One day one of them was on the floor and my 5th grade teacher picked it up. "And who does this belong to?" she asked. It belongs to Steve; ratted out in the fifth grade! Mom and Dad had to come to school for that one. I have to include this little episode. A friend of mine gave me two "girly" magazines which I hid under my bed. I tried to retrieve them and found a picture of Jesus with the verse What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his immortal soul ?" Nice touch Mom
