THE MINDSET OF CHRIST

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Philippians 2: 5-8. So many times in life we are tempted to use our connections for personal gain. We flout who we know trying to impress friends and acquaintences. We are taught to dress for success! Drive the most expensive cars, live in the biggest, fanciest houses in the most upscale neighborhoods. There is nothing wrong with all these things as long we have the same mindset as Jesus. Earning millions of dollars in your life time is OK. Tithing and offerings are better yet. Dying with millions in the bank will be held against you as you depart a suffering world. The Word who became flesh (Jesus) took the nature of a servant. We should follow His example.
