THE CONSISTENCY OF GOD

Throughout the years there have been many questions asked about God Almighty.  This is going to be part of a series of posts about his character that I have learned through my life experiences.  I am not a preacher.  My lifelong prayer has been to understand God’s character so that I can worship and love him in the way that pleases him.  My life experiences have given me unique opportunities to experience facets of his character first hand. In Exodus 3:14 God Almighty gives Moses the assurance of his ability to empower him to do the what he has been called to do. And God said to Moses, “I AM THAT I AM,” and he said, “you shall tell the children of Israel this I AM has sent me to you. ” I AM” says it all in a nutshell.   This phrase denotes that he is eternal, consistent, faithful, unchanging in fulfilling all of his promises.  All the he was he is and all that he will be he is. Time does not affect his character or his essence.  His promises are true.  His word is true.  He is truth.  Because of this quality your dependency on him is the safest place to be.  There are a few scriptures that speak that he does not lie and is unchanging. Numbers 23:19   God is not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man, that he be sorry. 1 Samuel 15:29   And also the glory of Israel will not retract or change his mind; for he is not a man that he should change his mind. Deuteronomy 10:17   For the Lord your God, he is God of gods, and Lord of lords, the great God, the mighty, and the awesome, who doesn’t respect persons,  takes no reward. Our society likes to view situations and circumstances through the glass of relativity.  When viewing life through the eyes of Almighty God we can rest assured in his omnipresence and power.  He does not change. All of his standards are applied equally.  Many people want to throw his standards to the wind and discard them.  They are the greatest place of safety.  They are also an expression of his deep and abiding love for us.  There is never fear that we are no longer loved because his standards have changed. He does not  throw us away.  We always have the choice to walk away.  When we consider this consistency and assurance why would we want to walk away?
